THE RETURN OF GLAMOUR

Lady Like Chic, Fur, Shine, Lace and Delicious Color, this season’s Glamorous point of view is amazingly beautiful.

Colored Bottoms: This look was on the runway and off {in the front row!}. It is an easy way to make winter’s dark layers look fresh and fun. We especially love this look in denim, with fabulous colors like Black Cherry, Terracotta, Aubergine and Cobalt Blue.

Rust-Color: While last year’s “It” color was camel, for fall 2011 the hue is turned down a notch, into a darker, more fall-like, and the way more universally flattering color of rust. It’s not as aged as it sounds—the autumnal color makes you want to skip through the leaves like a schoolgirl.

Maxi skirts and Cozy Sweaters: While it can be tough to work up enough style energy to wear anything other than jeans or leggings on the weekend, this low-key and uber-comfy outfit idea, that many designers sent down the runway, is something worth trying. After all, who knows? The maxi skirt and sweater combo could become your new weekend uniform.

Choker Necklace and Cuff Bracelets: If you’re looking to make a statement with your accessories, one that you can carry over from 2011 to 2012, this is it! Statement pieces continue… in solid metals, precious stones and unconventional pearls. These uniquely crafted necklaces add visual intrigue to any neckline.

The Big Knit: The message here is one of luxury. A bit less slouchy than last fall, we saw them over evening gowns, long chiffon skirts, and wide leg trousers. Warmth is the new chic.

Lace: It has more of a polished, Victorian feel with its higher collar. Make it edgy and sweet by pairing it with looks that are perfect for work as well as a night out on the town.

Shine: Sequins and intricate beading radiate from day to night. You can dress it up or dress it down and still look glamorous.

Wide Leg Pants: For fall 2011, there's a lean away from the dominance of the slim cut. This means not just a flared hem but also a wide leg. Bigger is better with these ultra-wide bottoms.

Fur: This is fall’s amazing go to piece for instant glamour. Choose a jacket, vest or simply a voluminous collar. The real or faux secret adds just the right touch of mystery.

The Poncho: We’ve been seeing more and more ponchos on the street, and it seemed that designers were paying attention this season. They sent out tons of options for all cape and poncho lovers ranging from preppy “All-American” types to those seeking more of a glammed-out style.
